Only eight in each age group for each stroke were allowed to go on. Daniel qualified in 8th position for breaststroke and Rebecca qualified 8th for freestyle. I think they need to give a ribbon to the parents who sat in the 2000 degree weather in the stands!
They did great both finishing 8th. Here are some video clips: Daniel Rebecca
2005 Rex Lee Run
Submitted by melinda on Sat, 2005-03-26 19:04. Diana & Joe | Family | General | Herald | Melinda | Photos | SportsHey, I just got back from participating in the 2005 Rex Lee Run. Note my running companion safely tucked away in my pocket. ?ú (yeah for iPods!) After finishing the race, they give you a little white card with the unofficial results on it. Mine says:
March 26, 2005
Women's 5k
Melinda Free
36:37.4 (11:47 Min/Mi)
406th place overall
2nd in Women 19-24
I was right behind the girl who got first in my category (and her younger brother--probably about Daniel's age). Not bad for the walking/jogging/running I did! It was really fun. I think my favorite part was sprinting at the end. I think I am probably more of a sprinter than a distance runner, and more of a speed walker than a runner (most of my friends say I walk too fast).
Cool weather, people, and sunset

Adam | Daniel | Diana & Joe | Family | General | Herald | News | Photos | SportsDaniel had a soccer game tonight starting at about 4:45-5:55pm...it was cool to begin with but when the sun went down we were glad to have blankets with us. You can see Diana all bundled up in the Levi blanket she made me. I know to all of you in the northern climes 40-50 degrees is not cold...but to us it was very cold. Daniel's team won, by the way.
Mike wins the Grand Prize

On the morning of Thanksgiving, Michael went to the annual Coon's Turkey Trot. The Turkey Trot was 3 miles long, and he won it with a time of 16:43. Michael was suprised by his times, but even more was his winnings. In the picture, it shows Michael with a very nice Sony CD player, Hershey Mint Chocolate Cookies 'n Cream bar, and a 100 dollar bill! You should have seen his face when he opened the envelope up with the money. Michael did pay his tithing and mission money and is ready to spend most of the money on Christmas presents.
