I was looking at some books online the other day (big surprise there, I know Ü), and I found this excerpt from a book that looks really great... Dad: The Man Who Lied to Save the Planet, 12 Timeless Virtues Handed Down to a Son by an Everyday Dad (by James Michael Pratt). The excerpt was printed in Mormon Life in an article entitled "It's Better to Be Kind Than to Be Right." I really enjoyed reading it, and it shares a great message. "It's Better to Be Kind Than to Be Right"

Well, today I left work a couple hours early and went with my Dad down to the DMV. I filled out the paperwork and then began the wait for the driving test. Finally my name was called and I went outside to take the test. I did well in the preliminary test (u-turn and 3-point turn...harder than it looks in a big Suburban beast), and then waited my turn for the drive with the judge. I actually started up the conversation with the judge, and my drive went smoothly. I was most worried about parking at the end, but that turned out just fine. I got out of the car with a big smile and a signature on my paper saying I could have a driver's license! Happy Day Ü !

Here are some more pictures Steven sent...can't wait to find out what they are! There sure is some nice scenery, but the faces are the best in my opinion!

We got a few more pictures from Joseph in Wisconsin. Many are from preparation day. One of the movies from the rollercoaster show a member of stake presidency in the car behind him. Looks like happy people out there!

What a great day we had Saturday. Michael baptized Andrew and his Dad confirmed him. It was fun to have others there to celebrate with him. You can tell by his smile it was great!. To see more pictures check out the here.

On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to go with my brother as he entered the MTC! Uncle Ric and I (and Taylor) picked Elder Free (Jopes) up from the airport in the morning and then drove back to Highland. We all talked for a bit and Joseph had some breakfast. Then we (Uncle Ric, Aunt Jodie, Eric, Matthew, Taylor, Joseph and I) all drove to Provo. We stopped at the Krispy Kreme in Orem and got some doughnuts (Mmmmm) which we ate in the parking lot across from the MTC. Then we walked over and got his luggage stowed away before going in the main doors where two nice ladies made sure his suit pocket was all ready for his tag. Then he got his cool missionary tag with the fun ‚Äúcelestial spot‚Äù (as the mission pres. called it) on it. This dot shows everyone that he is a newbie. ?ú Then we all sat in a chapel where they had an Orientation and then the family memebers walked out of one door, while the missionaries walked out of the other. We are all so happy for Joseph!!!

Joseph had his OTS (Opportunity To Speak) in Sacrament meeting today. He did a wonderful job. Just click on his picture to hear the talk.
