Daniel and Rebecca both qualified through the divisionals and semi-finals to swim in the city finals. Only eight in each age group for each stroke were allowed to go on. Daniel qualified in 8th position for breaststroke and Rebecca qualified 8th for freestyle. I think they need to give a ribbon to the parents who sat in the 2000 degree weather in the stands!

What a great day we had Saturday. Michael baptized Andrew and his Dad confirmed him. It was fun to have others there to celebrate with him. You can tell by his smile it was great!. To see more pictures check out the here.

Andrew had a great birthday on Sunday and is looking forward to being baptized this coming Saturday! woohoo!

We went to the mall today to take our family picture. We decided to dress up this year since it was going to be the last one together for a couple of years . After several poses the photographer said "have some fun and hug each other". We are just the group to have fun...it was our favorite pose. Hope you enjoy it.

Today Daniel turned twelve. Here he is reading the emails from his wonderful missionary grandparents in Chile and South Africa. He enjoyed the presents and his french toast for breakfast. For dinner he wanted breakfast burritos...so the smell of bacon was in our home tonight...aaahhhh!

Daniel had a soccer game tonight starting at about 4:45-5:55pm...it was cool to begin with but when the sun went down we were glad to have blankets with us. You can see Diana all bundled up in the Levi blanket she made me. I know to all of you in the northern climes 40-50 degrees is not cold...but to us it was very cold. Daniel's team won, by the way.

We decided to try a new tricky family photo. Everyone got on the trampoline with their heads in the center and Uncle Rich climbed up to the treehouse and "shot us". Thanks Uncle Rich! One thing you can't see in the photo is that our heads are much lower than our feet...see that nice color in our faces?

John Muir was seen in Mesa tonight. However, that face looks familiar. Daniel's sixth grade class put on a wax museum tonight. Each student picked out a character, did research, wrote a report, made a poster and then dressed up for the parents and family to see. They were very good at holding still...even when their Dad's tried to make them laugh!
